International School Andalucía was founded in 2009 with pupils only from Nursery to Year 3 in Espartinas, Seville. Through the years the school has expanded rapidly. Indeed, the original site proved too small for and eventually the school were moved to the actual site in Sanlucar la Mayor, Seville in 2010 with a current roll of nearly 300 pupils, ages 3 years old through 18 years. Approximately 80% of the student body are from Spain and 20% from over 30 nationalities.
In June 2018, International School Andalucía became a member of the International Schools Partnership (ISP) – a like-minded group of schools committed to driving high standards of teaching and learning and to always ‘getting better’. ISA’s new partnership with ISP has come at an exciting time, and with it renewed investment in our facilities.
The school offers a British curriculum foundation with older students sitting examinations at GCSE and A-Level in a wide variety of disciplines, allowing our students to matriculate in tertiary institutions both here in Spain and globally. ISA pupils have gone on to study in several different countries and the school is promoting strong connections with the growing list of alumni.
ISA is a Member of the National Association of British Schools in Spain (NABSS), and is a certified examination centre for Cambridge, EDEXCEL, and ESOL Examinations.
The school promotes a balanced whole-child education, with strong sports and arts programs as well as service-learning opportunities for ISA pupils. Some examples are our Duke of Edinburgh and Model United Nations events.
Students are supported in addition to their core subject teachers by Student Support services including a school nurse, EAL faculty, Learning Support and Pastoral Care faculty.
ISA parents are welcome at the school at any time and the school is committed to parent education. Friends of ISA is a parent group specifically focused on contributing to the community by hosting events designed to increase family’s participation in the school’s social and academic events.
